Hello, my name is Ian Dauphinee, and I am a Ph.D. student at Dalhousie University. I have worked under the supervision of Jean Saint-Aubin, Ph.D., in the Cognitive Sciences Lab at Université de Moncton since 2021, and with Raymond Klein, Ph.D., in the KleinLab at Dalhousie since 2025.
My research explores how semantic similarity affects the retrieval of order information in short-term memory. I also study the cognitive causes of detection failures and vigilance declines during surveillance, in order to better understand and mitigate their impacts.
I enjoy data science, volunteering and, above all, learning about the human condition.
